It includes useful information and/or the location of information about vision that can be accessed readily.
Information is gleaned from newsletters, journals, abstracts, magazines, relevant websites, and professional associations, as well as manufacturers of contact lenses, lens care products, and clinical and/or research instrumentation.
For some websites, registration (at no charge) may be required for initial access. Some websites offer free electronic newsletters (e-zines).
Most journals offer abstracts at no charge but usually, full texts are not available free-of-charge unless you or your institution has an arrangement with the publishers, you are a member of an affiliated organization, you have a personal subscription, or you agree to pay for individual articles (often an expensive route to take)).
New in this issue:
Following a lead from Dr Lobao Neto of J&J Vision Care Latin America, there are introduced a Spanish (Latin American) contact lens journal: Revista Panamericana de Lentes de Contacto (Pan-American Journal of Contact Lenses)
Following a suggestion from IACLE member and FIACLE, Dr Bezalel Schendowich of Israel, they are experimenting with rendering the article titles in Bold letters to help differentiate them from the article’s URL. This is especially useful should the hyperlinking of the URLs be lost for whatever reason.
